Scholarship Description: 
This scholarship was established by Mehul and Nikul Aghi, two alumni of Santiago Canyon College, for recognition of a highly driven student. This scholarship is intended for students who strongly value education and will leverage their academic foundation to positively impact society.

To be considered for this award, applicants must meet the following conditions at the time of application: 
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or above
  • Must demonstrate financial need
  • Must be in good standing in the SCC Honors Program at the time of application.

Ariel G. Satele Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship Description: 
This scholarship was established in memory of Ariel G. Satele and is awarded to transferring students who do not qualify for need-based financial aid (grants, tuition/fee waivers, etc.).

To be considered for this award, applicants must meet the following conditions at the time of application: 
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above at the time of application.
  • Must not be currently receiving need-based financial aid at SCC.

Arlin & Elizabeth Pirtle Scholarship

Scholarship Description: 
This scholarship was established in memory of Ms. Beverly Pirtle.  She was an instructor, program facilitator and Career Education Department Chair for more than 20 years with SCC and SAC. The scholarship is intended support students enrolled in SCC's Career Technical Education or Business program.

This scholarship is awarded to a student who is a business major. Students wishing to enter into a career in human resources and/or employee benefits is preferred.

This scholarship was established in memory of Ms. Brenda M. Sach for art majors who have completed at least one semester of art classes at SCC or SAC.

This scholarship was established by the Castellanos family for a part-time or full-time student who is a current competitor in the Forensics Speech and Debate Team with demonstrated leadership.

To be considered for this award, applicants must meet the following conditions at the time of application: 
  • Must have an overall GPA of 2.5 or above.
  • Must demonstrate financial need.
  • Applicants must have participated two or more competitions. 
  • Applicants must include a recommendation from a Forensics Coach.

This scholarship is funded annually by the Foundation of California Community Colleges. This award is distributed based on availability of funds and given to students who meet the eligibility requirements of the scholarship. This scholarship requires two separate disbursements per academic year.

This scholarship was established in memory of Ms. Pamela Friedman-Vazquez. This scholarship is for a student with teaching as a career goal. This scholarship requires two separate disbursements per academic year. 

To be considered for this award, applicants must meet the following conditions at the time of application: 
  • Must have completed 24 units at SAC/SCC. 
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above at the time of application.
  • Applicants must be a recipient of the California College Promise Grant (Fee Waiver) at the time of application. 
  • Must be pursuing teaching or education as a career goal.

This scholarship is awarded to a continuing AB540 student with long-term aspirations. This scholarship requires two separate disbursements per academic year.

  • Must have completed 24 units at SAC/SCC. 
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above at the time of application.
  • Applicants must be a recipient of the California College Promise Grant (Fee Waiver) at the time of application. 
  • Must be an AB540 student.

Scholarship Description: 
This scholarship is for a full-time student who has demonstrated significant involvement in leadership activities at SCC or the community, such as membership/officer role in ASG or clubs, volunteer work or community service, and/or active engagement in civic duties and related efforts. This scholarship requires two separate disbursements per academic year.

To be considered for this award, applicants must meet the following conditions at the time of application: 
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above at the time of application.

Continuing Education - Achievement / Academic Improvement Scholarship



Scholarship Description: 
Continuing Education is offering scholarships to students, including graduates, who will begin taking credit classes no later than Fall 2024 at Santiago Canyon College. Students must enroll in a minimum of six units.  Eligible students include enrolled in the High School Program with 20 credits or more completed at RSCCD with a 2.0 or higher GPA, or students enrolled in other SCC-Continuing Education classes who demonstrate good attendance and successful participation in their classes.
 

To be considered for this award, applicants must meet the following conditions at the time of application: 
  • Enroll in a minimum of one semester in the Continuing Education High School Diploma Program at SCC. 
  • Must have a cumulative 2.0 GPA (grade point average) or better at Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD).
  • Completion of a minimum of 20 credits in continuing education classes within RSCCD.
  • Must include at least one letter of recommendation.

Continuing Education - Dr. Terry Tomlinson Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by Dr. Terry Tomlinson, former professor in our High School Program. The scholarship is for a student graduating from the program by summer 2024, who demonstrated academic achievement. The student must be transitioning to SCC credit for the Fall of 2025 and enroll in a minimum of six units.
 

To be considered for this award, applicants must meet the following conditions at the time of application: 
  • Enroll in a minimum of one semester in the Continuing Education High School Diploma Program at SCC. 
  • Must be graduating from the High School Program by the end of summer 2025.
  • Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA (grade point average) or better at Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD).

Continuing Education - Marylou Barajas Scholarship

Scholarship Description: 
The family of Marylou Barajas is offering one scholarship to a highly motivated student registered with SCC-DSPS program for a student either enrolled in SCC High School program or have recently graduated from the SCC High School program. The student must have completed a minimum of 15 credits in the High School program and enrolled in a minimum of 6 units at SCC during the Fall 2024 semester.  

To be considered for this award, applicants must meet the following conditions at the time of application: 
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better at Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD).
  • Must be actively participating in SCC's DSPS program. 
  • Applicants must have completed at least 15 credits in the High School program. 
  • Must include a minimum of two letters of recommendation.

Continuing Education - New Hawk Award

Scholarship Description: 
SCC Continuing Education is offering two scholarships to students who will be graduating by summer 2025, from the Continuing Education High School Diploma program. Students must have completed 20 credits in classes at RSCCD. A student must enroll in a minimum of 6 or more units in the SCC credit program in Fall. The scholarship is intended to be used to pay for books, tuition and supplies. 
 

To be considered for this award, applicants must meet the following conditions at the time of application: 
  • Enroll in a minimum of one semester in the Continuing Education High School Diploma Program at SCC. 
  • Must be graduating from the High School Program by the end of summer 2025.
  • Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA (grade point average) or better at Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD).

This scholarship is for a student currently enrolled in the English Language (ESL), HiSET/GED, Career Ed, or High School Diploma programs and has completed at least one semester in any of our Continuing Education programs with good attendance. 
 

To be considered for this award, applicants must meet the following conditions at the time of application: 
  • Must be enrolled in the English Language (ESL), HiSET/GED, Career Ed, or the High School Diploma programs at SCC-Continuing Education
  • Completed at least one semester of SCC Continuing Education class(es)
  • Must include at least one letter of recommendation

Continuing Education - Rising Scholars Scholarship

Scholarship Description: 
Project RISE believes that formerly incarcerated students deserve a second chance to transform their lives through education. It is offering one scholarship to a formerly incarcerated student who is enrolled in Continuing Education to remove re-entry barriers to their educational goals.

  • Applicant must be actively involved in the Rising Scholars (formerly Project RISE) program at SCC.

Continuing Education - Salazar "Stars" Scholarship

Scholarship Description: 
Santiago Canyon College sponsors a scholarship program that recognizes success among students in the Continuing Education High School Program. One scholarship will be awarded in memory of Macario and Manuela Salazar, the parents of our Counselor Rosa Salazar de la Torre.

  • The student must have participated in the STARS Program this academic year.

The Santiago Canyon College Foundation sponsors a scholarship program that recognizes success among students in the English Language (ESL) program. This scholarship is awarded in memory of Sherry Allen, ESL Professor.

This scholarship is sponsored by SCC Continuing Education administrators, faculty, and staff. This scholarship is designed to support students who have completed at least one semester in the English Language (ESL), HiSET/GED, or Career Ed programs at SCC Continuing Education, are currently enrolled at SCC Continuing Education, and have good attendance. The funds are intended to assist the student with school expenses to continue their education.

Continuing Education - Student Leadership & Achievement Award



Scholarship Description: 
The Santiago Canyon College Foundation sponsors a scholarship program which recognizes both academic achievement and leadership among students earning the high school diploma from Santiago Canyon College Continuing Education. Students must enroll for a minimum of six credits and will be awarded half of the scholarship during Fall 2024 at Santiago Canyon College. The second increment is contingent upon the completion of six or more units with a 3.5 GPA or better for Fall 2024. Students will be granted the second half of the scholarship for enrollment in a minimum of six units in Spring 2025.

To be considered for this award, applicants must meet the following conditions at the time of application: 
  • Enroll in a minimum of one semester in the Continuing Education High School Diploma Program at SCC. 
  • Must be graduating from the High School Program by the end of summer 2024.

Scholarship Description: 

The Edison International STEM Scholarship was established by Southern California Edison for students majoring in an eligible Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) program.
 

To be considered for this award, applicants must meet the following conditions at the time of application:

  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above at the time of application.
  • Must be enrolled in 6 or more units for the spring semester.
  • Involved in SCC's STEM Academy and/or other SCC STEM Program.

Application Process:

Students can submit the Edison International STEM Scholarship Application to apply for this opportunity, which is available once an academic year in December/January. All SCC students majoring in a STEM field are emailed when the application opens and closes. Once the application is closed, it takes 2 weeks for the STEM Scholarship Committee to review and award recipients. If selected as a recipient, student is notified the week following that. All scholarship recipients are required to attend the May scholarship ceremony and donor reception.

This scholarship is established in honor of Elizabeth (Liz) Thomas, a former SCC financial aid staff member. Liz served as a financial aid liaison and student advocate for former foster youth  on campus. In addition to providing direct assistance with the application process for financial aid, Liz created a network of support and encouragement for her students as they navigated the college system.

  • Applicant must be actively involved in the Rising Scholars program at OEC or SCC. 
  • Must be enrolled in a Continuing Education program with a minimum enrollment of 12 hours of attendance per week OR enrolled at SCC taking a minimum of 6 units. 
  • Demonstrated financial need preferred. 
  • Have OEC or SCC listed as their main campus with Admissions & Records
  • Completed at least one term at the Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD)
  • Have a 2.0 GPA or above at RSCCD. 
Application Process:
Students can submit the SCC Annual Scholarship Application to apply for this opportunity. The SCC Annual Scholarship Application is available once an academic year. The application period for students begins in January and concludes in March. Students do not need to apply for each scholarship individually.   

If selected for this award, recipients must meet the following criteria during the fall semester to receive the funds: 
  • Student Status: Continuing at OEC or SCC
  • Unit Requirement: Must be enrolled in 6 or more credit units for fall 2024 OR non-credit attending 12 hours per week.
  • If the recipient does not meet the criteria, the scholarship will be awarded to a runner up.





Water Utility Science Scholarship

Scholarship Description: 
This scholarship was established by the California Water Service Group. The scholarship is intended to support students enrolled in SCC's Career Technical Education, specifically in our Water and Wastewater Technology Program.

To be considered for this award, applicants must meet the following conditions at the time of application: 
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above at the time of application.
  • Must be enrolled in SCC's Water and Wastewater Technology Program.

This scholarship was established in memory of Ms. Zena G. Leck. This scholarship is for a returning adult re-entry student with teaching as a career goal.

To be considered for this award, applicants must meet the following conditions at the time of application: 
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Must be an adult re-entry student. 
  • Applicants must be pursuing teaching or education as a career goal. 
Application Process:
Students can submit the SCC Annual Scholarship Application to apply for this opportunity. The SCC Annual Scholarship Application is available once an academic year. The application period for students begins in January and concludes in March. Students do not need to apply for each scholarship individually.   

If selected for this award, recipients must meet the following criteria during the fall 2024 semester to receive the funds:  
  •  Student Status: Continuing at SCC and/or transferring to a four-year college or university
  •  Unit Requirement: Must be enrolled in 9 or more units
If the recipient does not meet the criteria, the scholarship will be awarded to a runner up.
